When will you receive your refund?
The answer depends on several factors including how you filed your return. That said, the IRS estimates that it issues more than 90% of refunds to taxpayers within 21 days or less. There is always the possibility that your return could require additional review and therefore take longer. If you use electronic filing to file your return and request a direct deposit of your refund it will take approximately 7 – 15 days to get your refund. If you mail a paper return to the IRS, it will take approximately four weeks to get to the IRS and get processed, and you can expect your refund 10 days after it has been processed.
